Under the organization of CETTEX and AITEX as Project coordinators, SUSTEXNET 2nd meeting took place on Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th June 2014 at CETTEX premises, Tunisia.
Where project managers and financial managers met for a two-days management follow up meeting in order to discuss the status of activities concluded in the first 6 months and plan the next steps for year one of the project. Currently an analysis of the textile sectors of Egypt, Tunis, Spain and Italy is being finalized.
The first part of the meeting focused on financial, administrative and legal issues along with an update on the communication and dissemination plan. The second day has been dedicated to discuss further financial issues, capitalisation of the results, analysis of current situation of the textile sub-sectors and competitive models adopted in involved regions, technology , environmental and social impact assessment in the further perspective of resource- efficient Mediterranean textile industry and the auditing process.
The SUSTEXNET project is financed for an amount of 1.35 million Euro by European union through the ENPI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme (total amount of 1.5 million Euro) and aims to establish a cooperation network among main textile agents across Mediterranean basin to increase competitiveness and sustainability in the whole textile sector.
