In the framework of the MedBEESinessHubs workshops organized by CEEBA – Confederation of Egyptian European Business Associations, a \u201cFood Production using honeybee products\u201d workshop was conducted as a two-day event, one theoretical and one practical, was guided by Chef Mahmoud Nabil Rasheed who over has twenty-four years of experience in the hospitality, healthy nutrition, and international hotel chains industries. The 25 participants learned the art of cooking with honey and its products. Chef Mahmoud introduced in the two-day workshop also the guidelines for the Mediterranean diet that were developed under the ENPI CBC MED MedDiet project and implemented from 2012 to 2015 by CEEBA in Egypt.<\/p>

Honey is used as a food source due to its nutritional benefits and value. The use of bee products in a variety of food applications can improve the diet while consuming bioactive products derived from natural sources. The session further tackled to Mediterranean diet and how following it aids in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, increasing lifespan, and healthy ageing.<\/p>
