Under the auspices and presence of H.E. Sherif Ismail, Prime Minister of Egypt, H.E. Tarek Kabil, Minister of Trade and Industry and H.E. Sahar Nasr, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, the Confederation of Egyptian European Business Associations is organising the fourth round of MEDAFinance this year on April 10-11, 2017.
The conference focuses on supporting and promoting public-private partnerships, discusses the needs for the economic recovery and serves as a platform for available funding, technical aid programs and credit lines especially for SMEs in the Euromed region looking for capital sources. Based on an extensive study that showcases the available funding opportunities, MEDAFinance17 in its fourth round will present and open new communication channels with donor and development agencies and IFI’s, maximising the use of the available grants and funding instruments in the MEDA region and present all available instruments provided for the Egyptian and Mediterranean companies as well as the European companies that plan to invest in, or trade with, the southern Mediterranean countries. MEDAFinance17 study encompassed both bilateral and multilateral development organisations including EU, EIB, EBRD, WB, AfDB, IFC, KfW, Arab Funds, AFD, USAID, CIDA, JICA, Italy, and Spain besides non-banking instruments such as venture capital, mortgage finance and investment funds. It presents over 170 instruments, with extensive information on targeted groups and enterprises of the projects, the amount of finance offered and how to apply for the projects. The conference and exhibition will get together senior representatives of European Institutions, multi- and bilateral Donor Organisations, International Development Institutions and the leadership of Euro-Mediterranean business organisations. Representatives of EuroMediterranean states will also attend the event and VPs and regional directors of IFC – International Finance Corporation , EIB – European Investment Bank, EBRD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, World Bank, USAID – US Agency for International Development , JICA – Japan International Cooperation Agency and AfDB – African Development Bank have already confirmed their participation, all in all more than 500 participants are anticipated.
