Within the framework of the ENI CBC Med “INVESTMED” Project, CEEBA conducted a consultation with Business Support Organizations (BSOs) in Egypt’s eligible area. The consultation focused on assessing the needs and tools to support young entrepreneurs in the Blue, Green and Cultural and Creative (CCI) industries through the projects training program.
One of the issues discussed is the start-ups’ inability to survive the “post-grad” phase of the first two years after establishment due to a lack of mentorship, awareness of accessible funds, and lack of sustainable management skills. This highlighted the need for on the ground support for the entrepreneur’s post-grad journey.
It was also mentioned that the broadness of the Blue and Green economies and their presence in many sectors might deter some participants from applying because they don’t believe their ideas fall within the spectrum. This created the need for raising awareness and properly defining the roles and subsectors of each economy and their need in the region.
The points discussed helped shape the content and tools of the training program, which is set to start in late September. Applications are extended until the 8th of September for Egyptian entrepreneurs, start-ups and women of all ages residing in the eligible areas of Marsa Matruh, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr Al-Sheikh, Al-Dakahleya, Dumyat, Al-Sharkiya, Al-Ismailiyah and Port Said.
