GREEK PARTICIPATION AT THE CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT FAIR IN CAIRO
Enterprise Greece, the official investment and trade promotion agency of Greece, successfully organized Greek participation at the CBIPF 2018 – Citizenship by Investment Property Fair that took place in Cairo 21-22 September 2018.
Among the delegation were six Greek real estate companies who advertised their services with their own distinctive space inside the Greek national pavilion and were able to promote the Greek real estate market and the country’s successful Golden Visa Program (https://www.enterprisegreece.gov.gr/en/greece-today/living-in-greece/residence-permits).
According to the organizers more than 25 organizations and companies from 10 countries, among them real estate agencies, property management companies and real estate development consultants, participated in the fair to promote the sector and programs offering residence permits and citizenship through investment. The fair drew a large number of prospective Egyptian investors and businessmen.
Enterprise Greece executives briefed visitors to the Greek pavilion about the country’s residence permit program and the opportunities for non-European citizens to obtain a permanent residence permit in Greece. Representatives of the six Greek companies presented both their own and clients’ real estate assets, along with their services, expertise and know-how of the Greek market.
The Greek pavilion received particularly positive comments about its design and the services provided, particularly the availability relevant material and information for interested parties.
Enterprise Greece officials, along with representatives from the six Greek participant companies, also presented the Greek Golden Visa program to entrepreneurs and investors in a panel discussion.
The Golden Visa Program, which provides residence permits to non-EU citizens who acquire real estate in Greece has, according to the Ministry of Migration Policy, granted 3,154 licenses to investors as of 31 August 2018.
Chinese investors are the most active under the program, acquiring 1,521 permits, according to the data. They were followed by investors from Russia, with 438 permits issued; Turkey, with 337; and Lebanon with 113. Investors from Egypt ranked fifth, with 112 permits issued. Counting also immediate family members, the number of residence permits issued totals.
Enterprise Greece actively promotes the program with activities in specific target countries. The agency and is also planning to participate at the IREX Real Estate Exhibition in New Delhi in November and at the LPS – SHANGHAI 2018 International Property Exhibition to be held in December.
