MEDinCHAMBERS (CROSS-BORDER CHAMBERS’ NEW SERVICES as driver FOR SUSTAINABLE FAIR TRADE OF TEXTILE INDUSTRY ACROSS MEDITERRANEAN) is an Interreg NEXT MED project co-funded by the European Union that aims to strengthen cross-border governance in textile value chains across Italy, Spain, Tunisia, Egypt, and Turkey.
Currently, partner institutions operate with disparate information, independent procedures, and non-integrated tools. This project will structure a formal knowledge network to establish lasting collaboration between EU and Mediterranean partner country (MPC) chambers of commerce, in line with existing national and regional agreements.
The goal is:
-
Build a Shared Knowledge Framework: Create a central hub to map the rules, risks, resources, and specific needs of the textile sector across these countries.
-
Establish a Cross-Border Operational Team: Form a dedicated alliance (MEDinCHAMBERS) of bilateral chambers to facilitate direct cooperation.
The textile sector in these countries is highly export-oriented, with the European Union as its primary market. Therefore, a key driver of this project is to ensure compliance with the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles. The project will promote a more circular, energy-saving, and sustainable textile sector in the partner countries by providing tailored support services and fostering a powerful cross-border alliance.
Our project partners include:
