The recently concluded TECHNE Summit 2023, held from October 7th to 10th at the prestigious Bibliotheca Alexandrina, witnessed an impressive display of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Mediterranean Region. A notable highlight of this event was the prominent display of the iHERITAGE project, featured at the booth of Egyptian project partner, the Confederation of Egyptian European Business Associations (CEEBA). The summit not only celebrated innovation but also represented a significant milestone in fostering collaboration and driving forward technological advancements in the region.
The TECHNE Summit has come a long way since its inception in 2015, steadily growing into a powerhouse of innovation. With over 30,000 attendees, 400 speakers, 1,000 startups, 180 exhibitors, and 200 investors from more than 70 countries, the summit has become a prominent platform for the exchange of ideas and opportunities. CEEBA, a vital participant for the past three years, has played a pivotal role in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship on this grand stage.
One of the standout moments during CEEBA’s presence at TECHNE Summit 2023 was the captivating presentation by Mohamed Yehia and his company, Semsemia. Semsemia is a subgrantee of the iHERITAGE call for innovation proposal, a project aimed at utilizing cutting-edge technology to safeguard cultural heritage in Ismailia. Dr. Khaled Sabbah, Co-Founder, General Manager of InnoVision and a distinguished figure in the field technology and heritage, joined Yehia in presenting the iHERITAGE vision for cultural preservation through technology.
On October 10th, iHERITAGE project representatives were available for B2B meetings at the CEEBA stand, engaging with industry leaders and enthusiasts alike. Visitors had the opportunity to test and explore the innovative solutions developed under the iHERITAGE project, gaining firsthand insights into how advanced technology can enrich and protect our precious cultural heritage. An added attraction was the presence of Mr. Mario Ayad, CEO and Founder of INVISION CO. and expert from the iHERITAGE Living Lab, who offered visitors a unique and immersive experience using the latest 4.0 Technologies.
Throughout the event, attendees were exposed to the synergy between technology and cultural preservation, gaining valuable insights into the concept and accomplishments of the EU-funded iHERITAGE project. They also had the chance to experience some of the innovative products created under its auspices.
